The actual recall command training is the same procedure for a puppy or an adult dog (if that adult dog doesn’t already have an unwanted behavior to the command). this is also a great opportunity to apply marker training with your dog.. As with any training, recall is all about putting a routine into your dogs day which he enjoys taking part in. recall should never mean "if i run back to my owners, she'll put me back on leash" but always, "if i run back to my owner, it's usually worth my while". with adult dogs, all recall training is easier done using a long line, which is dropped on the ground & dragged behind the dog.. Training a dog to come when called is often referred to as a "recall." it is ironic that owners go to great lengths to train their dog not to come when called, and then complain about it..
3. have smelly pockets. if you’re practicing recall with your dog, always make sure you have lots of tasty treats. don’t skimp, dry biscuits or kibble are not exciting enough to reinforce recall..
